Dexter Studio Wins Visual Effects Award at Daejong Film Awards

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Dexter announced on the 12th that Supervisor Jegal Seung won the Visual Effects Award at the '58th Daejong Film Awards' held on the 9th.

Supervisor Jegal Seung oversaw the visual special effects (VFX) for the movie Alien+ Part 1.

Jegal Seung, VFX Supervisor at Dexter Studio, said, "It was a meaningful awards ceremony to be able to compete in good faith with Dexter artists' works such as Emergency Declaration and Pirates: Goblin Flag. I am grateful just to be nominated alongside such outstanding works, and I am happy to have won."

He recalled, "Alien+ was a long-term project that took about five years from the pre-production stage to the final completion of VFX work. It was a continuous creative process, creating worlds that do not exist in reality and expressing objects never seen before."

He added, "I will consider this a valuable blessing for the efforts made so far and an encouragement to create even better works in the future. I will share today's glory with our Dexter artists who have walked this path together."

Dexter Studio was established by the first generation of domestic VFX experts to produce the movie Mr. Go. It is the first domestic VFX company to enter the Korean stock market through a special technology listing system. The studio has participated in numerous films applying VFX technology, including Along with the Gods, Baekdusan, and Space Sweepers.
