Youth Council Includes Voice-Conversion Barcodes in Housing Finance Brochures
Service Enables Visually Impaired and Multicultural Families to Easily Understand Construction Products
[Asia Economy Reporter Sim Nayoung] Korea Housing Finance Corporation announced on the 8th that it will produce and distribute a separate housing finance promotional material (My Housing Finance Guide in My Hand Delivered by Voice) embedded with voice conversion barcodes to help those who have difficulty obtaining information, such as the visually impaired and multicultural families, better understand housing finance products (Bogeumjari Loan, Housing Guarantee, Housing Pension, and other Housing Finance Corporation products) and improve product accessibility.
This promotional material is the result of a direct proposal by the Youth Board composed of 16 young employees and was promoted as part of supporting financially vulnerable groups. The Youth Board reflects fresh and creative ideas from young employees directly into management policies through a bottom-up decision-making process. Last year, they produced and promoted the ‘Really Easy Housing Finance Guide for the People,’ which visualized product explanations with infographics for easier understanding.
The current ‘My Housing Finance Guide in My Hand Delivered by Voice’ is a promotional material for corporation products embedded with VoiceEye codes, allowing customers such as the visually impaired and multicultural families who have difficulty accessing products to receive voice guidance on the usage requirements and application methods of the corporation’s representative products through the barcode on the promotional material.
By scanning the VoiceEye code (barcode) through a dedicated app, the printed text can be converted to voice and listened to, and it can also be translated into more than 50 languages in connection with the Google app. Additionally, voice conversion codes will be embedded in corporation product forms (leaflets, product manuals, contracts, etc.), stocked at branches, and posted on the corporation’s website to further enhance accessibility to housing finance for those who have difficulty obtaining information.
Kim Hyunwoo, Chairperson of the HF Youth Board, said, “This outcome reflects the CEO’s management philosophy that prioritizes the convenience of the people and is the result of collaboration among all employees,” adding, “The Youth Board will continue to take the lead so that young employees’ creative ideas can positively impact the lives of the people.”
