KakaoPay Strengthens Security by Hiring Kim Hee-jae as CISO Kim Hee-jae, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Kakao Pay

[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Kakao Pay has recruited an information security expert with over 30 years of experience in traditional financial institutions as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).


Kakao Pay announced on the 8th that it appointed Heejae Kim as CISO. Kim has built his capabilities and experience over more than 30 years as an information security manager in traditional financial and digital service industries, having worked at Samsung Life Insurance, NongHyup Life Insurance, LINA Life Insurance, and CJ OliveNetworks. He has conducted certification audits for over 100 domestic companies as a senior auditor for multiple international security standards at the British Standards Institution. He also led the first international information security standard certification audit in the cloud sector in Korea.


By recruiting Kim as CISO, Kakao Pay plans to further strengthen its information security system. As a financial platform used by 38.48 million people, the company aims to elevate its information security capabilities to a higher level and establish a leading personal information protection system and policies in the financial sector.


A Kakao Pay official stated, "Together with CISO Kim, who has a deep understanding of the financial industry and digital environment, we will strive harder to prepare for diversifying security risks and provide a platform where users can safely use financial services."
