[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] A worker was killed after being struck by a medium-sized machine (tire roller) at a construction site on Olympic-daero.

On the 6th, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul announced that at around 10:30 a.m. the previous day, a worker in his 60s, Mr. A, was hit and killed by a medium-sized machine operated by another worker, Mr. B, at the Olympic Bridge construction site. The police have booked Mr. B on charges of professional negligence causing death and are investigating.

At the time of the accident, Mr. A was giving hand signals for road paving work when he was struck by the medium-sized machine operated by Mr. B, fell, and was crushed under the vehicle. He was transported to the hospital but died. The site was undergoing the "Olympic Bridge South End RC Connection Ramp Structural Improvement Project." Mr. A was reportedly a worker affiliated with a subcontractor of the construction company.
