Naver Works Obtains Cloud Security Certification...Used by Public Institutions and Local Governments

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] Naver Cloud announced on the 5th that its work collaboration tool ‘Naver Works’ has obtained the Cloud Service Security Authentication (CSAP) in the Software as a Service (SaaS) category. Accordingly, public institutions and local governments can now use Naver Works for work collaboration.

Public Naver Works meets the strict security requirements demanded by CSAP and has been certified by an international certification body for the stability and reliability of information protection and management. CSAP is a system that evaluates and certifies whether a service complies with information protection standards so that users can safely use cloud services. In addition to physical network separation requirements, high-level safety standards such as product safety standards (CC certification) regulated by the National Intelligence Service and the incorporation of domestically unique encryption modules are required.

By utilizing Public Naver Works, user data can be isolated by each public institution and local government to fundamentally block and prevent data incidents. The functions provided by Naver Works can be used on various devices such as PCs and mobile devices, enabling the establishment of a flexible work environment. Since the service can be used immediately by paying only the usage fee without construction and maintenance costs, budget savings effects can also be expected.

The government has announced that it will fully convert and integrate information systems operated by administrative and public institutions to the cloud by 2025. If public sector work systems can be replaced with SaaS, private services will be prioritized. According to a demand survey by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, collaboration tools (14.9%) were identified as the cloud services with the highest necessity and usability in administrative and public institutions in the future.
