[Asia Economy Reporter Byeon Seon-jin] The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute announced that from the 30th to the 1st of next month, they will hold the '2022 Health Industry Performance Exchange Meeting' at Seoul EL Tower.
Now in its 8th year, the Health Industry Performance Exchange Meeting will be attended by about 700 stakeholders in the biohealth sector, including companies, hospitals, and research institutes representing the biohealth industry such as pharmaceuticals, bio, medical devices, and cosmetics. Awards will be given to individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the promotion of biohealth technology and industrial development. A total of 97 awards will be presented across five categories. Additionally, the technological commercialization achievements in the biohealth field made over the past year will be shared.
On the afternoon of the 30th, programs for exchanging achievements by business sector, such as cases of global market entry in the pharmaceutical industry and technology transfer cases in the biohealth field, will be held. The event will share the success experiences of pharmaceutical and bio companies entering overseas markets, the outcomes of support projects for overseas expansion of the pharmaceutical industry, and investment trends in the global pharmaceutical industry along with strategies for attracting domestic investment.
On the final day, results of open laboratories supporting startup companies using regional infrastructure and K-Biohealth regional centers will be presented. The event will also cover the achievements of projects fostering the in vitro diagnostic medical device industry, supporting the establishment of medical device usability infrastructure, and supporting overseas expansion of small and medium cosmetics companies.
Jung Eun-young, Director of the Health Industry Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, stated, “Each award recipient today is a hidden hero leading industrial development, and we express our gratitude for their hard work. For the biohealth industry to leap to a higher level, active cooperation from companies and field experts is necessary.”
