[Asia Economy Reporter La Youngcheol] The Gangwon Provincial Police Agency has taken measures to respond to illegal activities such as obstruction of transportation and facility occupation in relation to the Cargo Solidarity collective transportation refusal situation.

On the 28th, according to the Gangwon Agency, available personnel including riot police, detectives, and traffic motorcycle units have been concentrated at key industrial sites such as cement factories and oil depots to strengthen 112 patrols and proactively prevent and block illegal activities.

Despite continuous warnings, if illegal acts such as blocking entrances to major facilities, obstructing normal transportation of cargo vehicles, assaulting non-union drivers, damaging or arson of transport vehicles are forcibly carried out, strict response with on-site arrest as a principle will be enforced. At the same time, key ringleaders and extreme actors will be tracked down to the end for judicial action.

Illegal activities involving vehicles will be subject to judicial punishment along with administrative measures such as suspension or cancellation of driver's licenses in accordance with relevant laws.

Earlier, Kim Dohyung, Chief of the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency, held a countermeasure meeting regarding the Cargo Solidarity collective transportation refusal situation with 17 police chiefs attending, checking preparedness by police station and discussing strict law enforcement measures.

The Gangwon Provincial Police Agency stated, "We will take all possible measures and respond strictly with a zero-tolerance principle to the current Cargo Solidarity collective transportation refusal situation."
