[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] KT Skylife announced on the 21st that it will sell Skylife Mobile postpaid SIM cards at over 380 ‘Homeplus’ and ‘Homeplus Express’ stores nationwide.

This enhances customer convenience by allowing easy purchase of SIM cards while shopping at major large-scale marts, which are key commercial areas. In particular, to help customers easily find mobile SIM cards within the spacious large stores, they are displayed at customer service centers and electronic store counters to facilitate purchasing.

The mobile plans available for subscription with SIM cards purchased at Homeplus include 44 types of Skylife Mobile no-contract plans, such as the reasonably priced unlimited voice, text, and data plans ‘Modu Chungbun 7.0GB+’ (17,500 KRW) and ‘Modu Chungbun 11.0GB+’ (33,900 KRW). Customers can practically choose according to their data usage and voice/text consumption patterns.

The usage method is also simple and self-service, allowing subscription and activation within 5 minutes. After purchasing the SIM package at Homeplus, customers can scan the self-activation dedicated QR code provided or access the Skylife Direct Shop, follow the instructions to activate, and then insert the SIM into their phone.

To commemorate the Homeplus entry, Skylife is offering an additional SKY coupon worth 10,000 KRW, which can be used like cash at the Skylife Shop, to customers who purchase SIM cards at Homeplus, providing benefits of up to 140,000 KRW in SKY coupons.

When activating a mobile plan priced at 5,000 KRW or more, Skylife provides new subscribers with SKY coupons worth 100,000 KRW (including a basic 30,000 KRW, up to 30,000 KRW per plan for self-activation, up to 10,000 KRW SIM support fee, and a 30,000 KRW coupon commemorating the Skylife Shop launch), as well as a 30,000 KRW coupon for self-paid iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro bundle plans. Adding the extra 10,000 KRW coupon for Homeplus SIM purchasers, customers can receive benefits totaling up to 140,000 KRW.

The Skylife Shop is an e-commerce mall recently launched by Skylife, offering a lineup of about 600 products including department store and Daiso gift certificates, mobile food and beverage vouchers, and the latest home appliances. Customers can use ‘SKY coupons’ to purchase desired gift certificates or shop at discounted prices.

Kim Ui-hyun, Head of Sales Service Division at KT Skylife, said, "With the entry of Skylife Mobile SIM cards into Homeplus, we expect to improve customers’ access to SIM cards and purchasing convenience," adding, "We plan to continue providing reasonable communication benefits through various online and offline channels."
