Samsung Electronics Unveils Largest Ever Exhibition at Game Festival 'G-STAR'

Gaming-Optimized Semiconductors, Monitors, and Smartphones Unveiled

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] Samsung Electronics participated in 'G-STAR 2022,' the largest domestic game exhibition held at BEXCO in Busan on the 17th, showcasing its semiconductor, monitor, and smartphone products optimized for gaming.

This exhibition was held offline for the first time in three years since the spread of COVID-19. Samsung Electronics prepared its largest-ever exhibition hall at G-STAR, covering 357㎡ (approximately 108 pyeong). In addition to product displays, various contents allowing gamers to participate directly were prepared.

At this exhibition, Samsung Electronics introduced various high-performance solid-state drives (SSDs) optimized for gaming environments, including the 990 PRO series and the T7 Shield. The 990 PRO series is a high-performance product optimized for large-capacity graphic tasks such as gaming. The T7 Shield is a portable SSD that reliably processes data even for large-capacity tasks.

Samsung Electronics set up various experience zones such as the ▲Game Play Zone ▲Entertainment Zone ▲Class & Event Zone to allow visitors to directly experience SSD products. In the Game Play Zone, recently released or upcoming games such as Sonic Frontiers and Forspoken were provided for experience using the 990 PRO series.

Samsung Electronics unveiled the gaming monitor 'Odyssey OLED G8,' equipped with a quantum dot technology-applied organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panel, for the first time at G-STAR.

The Odyssey OLED G8 is a premium gaming monitor featuring a 21:9 wide 34-inch 1800R curved OLED panel and supports ultra-wide QHD (3440x1440) resolution. It is characterized by a maximum 175Hz refresh rate and a near real-time 0.1ms (GTG) response time.

At this exhibition, Samsung Electronics displayed approximately 350 of its gaming monitors at various game partner booths such as Neowiz, Nexon, Inven, and Krafton. Samsung also showcased HDR10+ related technology in collaboration with Neowiz, the first domestic game company to join as a member of the 'HDR10+ Technology' group.

Samsung Electronics separately set up a Galaxy Store booth at G-STAR, allowing visitors to enjoy popular games on the latest smartphones such as the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4. Various game discount coupons and gift cards were provided, and game events were held to offer diverse benefits to visitors.
