[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 25th that it has signed a "Memorandum of Understanding for the Creation of a Global Startup Ecosystem" with the University of Chicago in the United States. The signing ceremony held in Chicago, USA on the morning of the 23rd (local time) was attended by about 10 officials, including Kim Hak-do, Chairman of SBC, and Juan de Pablo, Senior Vice President of the University of Chicago.


Through this agreement, the two organizations have agreed to actively cooperate in supporting technology and research, export localization, and other areas to help promising domestic small and medium venture companies enter the U.S. market.


Specifically, they plan to join forces in ▲ supporting the commercialization of technologies for small and medium venture companies in new industries such as bio and digital healthcare ▲ jointly developing and operating customized startup support programs ▲ sharing support infrastructure between the two organizations.


Chairman Kim Hak-do said, "Collaboration with local specialized institutions like the University of Chicago is essential for the successful overseas market entry of excellent domestic small and medium venture companies," adding, "The two organizations will work closely to strengthen the overseas expansion capabilities of small and medium venture companies and strive to achieve tangible support outcomes such as exports and investment attraction."


Meanwhile, the University of Chicago, located in Illinois, USA, is a research-oriented private university established in 1890, and is regarded as a world-class university, having produced a total of 94 Nobel laureates to date.
