Cooperation for Collection, Preservation, and Activation of Performing Arts Materials

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Arko Arts Archive of the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service announced on the 16th that it has signed a business agreement with the Little Angels Art Troupe of the Hyojeong Korean Cultural Foundation and the Universal Ballet Company to promote the collection, preservation, and utilization of performing arts materials.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲ donation and consignment for the collection and preservation of art materials ▲ digitization and joint utilization cooperation for the preservation and use of art materials ▲ cooperation in linked projects such as research and education to activate sharing and services of art materials ▲ exchange of technical information for the establishment and operation of archives.
Moon Hoon-sook, Chairperson of the Hyojeong Korean Cultural Foundation, said, “Participating in preserving important values is a very meaningful task,” adding, “We will support efforts to correctly pass on the beautiful arts of the era to future generations and to serve as a guidebook for better directions.”
An official from the Arts Council stated, “We hope that this meaningful agreement among the Arts Council, Little Angels Art Troupe, and Universal Ballet Company will activate cooperation to successfully pass on valuable artistic records to future generations.”
The Little Angels Art Troupe was founded in 1962 and is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. Composed of youth members aged 9 to 15, it is an arts organization that nurtures outstanding artists and acts as a cultural and peace envoy through foreign tours. The Universal Ballet Company, founded in 1984 and marking its 38th anniversary this year, is Korea’s first private professional ballet company and has led efforts to popularize ballet and elevate the status of Korean ballet.
