NextLab Co., Ltd., a domestic inspection and measurement brand (CEO Changgeun Lee, Sungmin Kim), announced that it has signed an MOU for business cooperation with French startup nPerf SAS (CEO Renaud Keradec), which operates a global internet speed measurement service.

The two companies signed the MOU on September 9 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and simultaneously signed a license agreement for the use of nPerf's internet speed measurement service.

Through this MOU, the two companies will begin joint development of differentiated service-as-a-Service measurement instruments and solutions targeting global internet service providers and network construction/operation companies, and NextLab has secured a global internet speed measurement service license necessary for the overseas launch of the portable internet service quality measurement device ‘netMeter’.

‘netMeter’ is a portable internet service quality measurement device that measures not only internet speed but also IP broadcasting reception quality in a comprehensive manner. It is increasingly recognized as an essential product that can improve the quality satisfaction of internet subscribers and reduce unnecessary repeated dispatch costs, leading to a growing number of telecommunications operators adopting it.

In particular, it has the distinct feature of providing additional specialized measurement functions for each telecommunications operator through OTA (Over-the-Air) updates.

nPerf is a high-tech company based in France. Based on crowdsourced measurement standards?that is, results directly measured by millions of users?nPerf has developed software that provides actionable data across network infrastructure and overall internet customer experience. A wide range of customers, from major telecommunications companies, enterprises, to public institutions, trust nPerf’s solutions to improve, optimize, and analyze telecommunications networks worldwide.

Sungmin Kim, CEO of NextLab, stated, “Since the first launch of ‘netMeter’ in 2020, we have delivered over 3,000 units in the domestic market and acquired operational know-how, strengthening product reliability.” He added, “Through this MOU, we have created an opportunity to supply service-type products differentiated from foreign measurement devices to the global market, and we will do our best to stand tall as a representative inspection and measurement brand of the Republic of Korea.”

Renaud Keradec, CEO of nPerf, commented, “Every day, thousands of people worldwide trust nPerf to evaluate their internet networks. When all these internet network measurement tests are combined, a comprehensive crowdsourced database is created. Telecommunications companies worldwide use our well-validated technology to improve customer satisfaction and prevent customer churn. We are pleased to share our knowledge with NextLab through this MOU. I am confident that by combining our expertise with NextLab’s reliable products, we can move toward a bright future.”
