Muan-gun Operates Promotional Booth for Prevention of Cerebrovascular and Cardiovascular Diseases

200 Employees and Customers at Namak Large Discount Store

[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do recently operated a "Know Your Vascular Numbers Red Circle" promotional booth and a mobile smoking cessation clinic at a large discount store in Namak as part of the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Management Week event.

The "Know Your Vascular Numbers Red Circle" campaign encourages individuals to know their blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol levels, and methods to prevent cardiovascular diseases, promoting proper health management. Along with this, the county also provides smoking cessation support services for smokers.

Through this event, blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol tests were conducted on about 200 discount store employees and customers, identifying 4 individuals with suspected hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia, who were then guided to see a specialist doctor.

Additionally, the mobile smoking cessation clinic operated by promoting the 9 lifestyle rules for cardiovascular disease prevention, offering health consultations, CO and cotinine measurements, nicotine replacement therapies, and behavioral reinforcement supplies, receiving great responses from customers.

County Governor Kim San stated, "Early detection, consistent treatment, and practicing proper lifestyle habits are important for cardiovascular diseases," adding, "As health management is crucial during times like the COVID-19 pandemic, we will pay more attention and effort to promoting the health of our residents."
