Flood-Damaged Housing Tenants and Building Owners to Receive 500,000 KRW Per Household
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 9th that it has provided the ‘Dongjak-gu Independent Disaster Relief Fund’ separately from the ‘Government Disaster Relief Fund’ for households affected by flooding damage.
The ‘Dongjak-gu Independent Disaster Relief Fund’ was the first among autonomous districts affected by last month’s heavy rain to be implemented, and payments began on the 6th.
As of September 8, about 3,500 out of approximately 5,000 cases have been paid, and the remaining unpaid cases will be completed promptly.
The payment targets are Dongjak-gu residents who ▲ are recognized as households with flood-damaged homes reported and confirmed in the National Disaster Management System (NDMS) and owners of the affected buildings ▲ and households residing in Buildings 105 and 107 of Geukdong Apartments in Sadang-dong, which suffered damage due to a retaining wall collapse on the 8th.
Households registered and recognized as damaged in the NDMS and residents of Geukdong Apartments Buildings 105 and 107 will receive 500,000 KRW per household, and building owners of NDMS-registered damaged households will receive up to 2,000,000 KRW.
Additionally, the originally scheduled application period has been extended to continue accepting applications from residents who have not yet applied.
Mayor Park Il-ha of Dongjak-gu said, “We provided the district’s independent disaster relief fund to offer practical help to residents affected by the heavy rain,” adding, “We will do our best to ensure the full recovery of residents’ daily lives and stabilize their living conditions through prompt payments.”
