Mayor Kim and Mayor Oh purchased rice cakes and jeon (Korean pancakes) at various stores within the traditional market to check the prices of holiday groceries and also attended the market’s event activities.
Additionally, they listened to the difficulties faced by market merchants struggling due to rising prices and COVID-19, and took time to encourage them.
Their on-site visit concluded after exchanging greetings with many residents who came to the traditional market to buy holiday essentials.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, said, “Visiting the traditional market a day before Chuseok and being able to spend time with residents makes this holiday even more meaningful,” adding, “I wish all residents a warm and safe Chuseok until the very end.”

He then purchased holiday foods directly from the markets to promote market vitality, and all purchased items were donated to the ‘Mapo Happiness Sharing Food Market’ for low-income residents.
Oh Eun-seok, Mayor of Dobong District, visited local traditional markets and shopping streets ahead of Chuseok to check if residents faced any inconveniences and supported small business owners by purchasing goods himself.

Moving forward, I will continue to consider ways to revitalize the local economy through active communication and on-site visits. I hope all small business owners have a Chuseok holiday filled with bright smiles.”
Park Hee-young, Mayor of Yongsan District, inspected public welfare sites such as Hannam-dong Public Parking Lot and Huam-dong Yangjitmal Senior Center on the 7th to ensure residents can have a safe and comfortable Chuseok holiday.
Yongsan District plans to open 15 roadside parking lots including Hannam-dong Public Parking Lot and 10 school parking facilities free of charge during the holiday period. Mayor Park visited the traffic control situation room on the day to request that no parking complaints arise during the Chuseok holiday and to encourage the staff on duty.
He then moved to the temporary screening clinic in Hannam-dong, stating, “The clinic will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the 11th and from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 12th during the holiday, but will be closed from the 9th to 10th.
