[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Cape Investment & Securities explained on the 7th that Yuil Energy Tech is expected to expand orders for notching and stacking equipment in the secondary battery electrode assembly process based on its technological capabilities.
As of the first half of this year, Yuil Energy Tech's sales composition by sector consisted of 94.5% from exports of secondary battery automated assembly equipment, 3.3% from domestic sales of secondary battery automated assembly equipment, and 2.2% from others.
Yuil Energy Tech is expected to expand orders for notching and stacking equipment and is expanding its business relationships with global companies starting with domestic firms. In fact, discussions are underway regarding orders for mass production lines of all-solid-state notching equipment, notching-stacking inline equipment, and laser notching equipment.
Furthermore, the company is also expanding its applicable industries and product lines, with additional equipment orders expected from European electrode material equipment companies, domestic hydrogen fuel cell material manufacturing equipment companies, and UTG glass lamination equipment companies.
It also holds shares in Jaeyoung Tech, a battery recycling company. Jin-hyung Park, a researcher at Cape Investment & Securities, said, "Yuil Energy Tech has invested in new businesses such as hydrogen fuel cells and battery recycling, and currently holds about 18% of the shares in Jaeyoung Tech, a battery recycling company," adding, "Jaeyoung Tech is the only company in Korea that mass-produces high-purity lithium carbonate for batteries."
He continued, "Its competitiveness lies in being the only company in the industry with pre-extraction technology for lithium carbonate, supplying lithium carbonate and NCM sulfate to the top three domestic cathode material and lithium hydroxide producers," and added, "Its production capacity (CAPA) is currently 1,800 tons and is being expanded to about 6,600 tons in 2023."
