[Featured Stock] VESSEL Rises on Government's Bold Special Act Plan for 2025 UAM Commercialization

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Vessel is showing strong performance following news that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will support the commercialization of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) through bold regulatory exemptions. Vessel is known as a key beneficiary stock related to UAM.

As of 10:35 AM on the 25th, Vessel is trading at 7,300 KRW, up 290 KRW (4.14%) compared to the previous trading day.

Lee Won-jae, the 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, stated on the day, "We will leap forward as a future mobility powerhouse through the commercialization of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and fully autonomous driving of autonomous vehicles by implementing bold regulatory exemptions."

The Vice Minister explained, "To this end, we will steadily support related regulatory relaxation, demonstration support, and research and development. Currently, we are preparing the industrial foundation for UAM commercialization targeted for 2025, and plan to secure competitiveness of the domestic UAM industry through the enactment of the UAM Act for bold regulatory exemptions, promotion of the Grand Challenge to establish safety and commercialization standards, and R&D initiatives."

Meanwhile, Vessel is known to be participating in the government-led national project for autonomous flight personal air vehicles (OPPAV) alongside KAI and Hyundai Motor. Vessel operates businesses including UAM, manned and unmanned aircraft, and aviation parts, and is regarded as a key beneficiary stock related to UAM.

Additionally, Vessel showcased its top-tier independent vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) design and development capabilities in Korea through the 2022 Drone Show Korea. Besides high-performance medium-sized unmanned aerial vehicles, it also introduced a launch-type unmanned aircraft lineup for building manned-unmanned hybrid systems in helicopters, vehicles, and more.
