Night Viewing at Gyeongbokgung Palace Resumes on the 1st of Next Month


Night tours of Gyeongbokgung Palace will resume on the 1st of next month. The Cultural Heritage Administration's Palace and Royal Tombs Division announced on the 22nd that operating hours will be extended until 9:30 PM until November 6. However, extended hours will not be available on Mondays and Tuesdays, except for the substitute holiday for Chuseok on the 12th of next month and the Autumn Palace Culture Festival on October 3rd and 4th. The last admission time is 8:30 PM.


Gyeongbokgung night tours are a representative palace utilization event for enjoying the historic palace in the city at night. Tickets can be purchased online or on-site on the day of the visit. Reservations for the first viewing period (September 1?30) will be available from 10 AM on the 25th of this month. Reservations for the second viewing period (October 1?November 6) will begin at 10 AM on the 23rd of next month. A representative from the Palace and Royal Tombs Division explained, "Online ticket sales are limited to 2,000 people per day," and "On-site ticket sales are limited to 500 tickets for domestic visitors and 200 tickets for foreigners."


Free admission is granted to the national merit recipients and their spouses, persons with severe disabilities and one accompanying person, persons with mild disabilities, holders of national merit survivor certificates, children under 6 years old, seniors aged 65 and over, and those wearing Hanbok. For children under 6 years old, guardians must purchase tickets either through reservation or on-site sales. For more details, please refer to the Gyeongbokgung Management Office website.
