Lee Jae-myung: "We Will Promote Nationwide Party Organization to Create a Winning Party"

Talk Concert in Gwangju's Community Garden... "Trust Must Be Earned Through Realizable Promises"

Lee Jae-myung: "We Will Promote Nationwide Party Organization to Create a Winning Party" Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea's presidential candidate, is speaking at the 'Fun Communication' talk concert held on the 15th at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Candidate Lee Jae-myung, who is continuing the 'Hwaktamaeng' (Definitely Lee Jae-myung as the leader) race following 'Eodaemyeong' (Anyway, the leader is Lee Jae-myung) by showing an overwhelming vote difference from other candidates in the Democratic Party leadership election, visited the party's stronghold.

On the 15th at 7 p.m., Candidate Lee held a 'Fun Communication' talk concert at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, emphasizing, "Through this party convention, we will sincerely approach the people and create a winning party."

About 300 people attended the event, including Jeong Cheong-rae, Seo Young-kyo, Park Chan-dae, and Jang Kyung-tae, candidates for Supreme Council members classified as pro-Lee, local members of the National Assembly, and supporters.

Supporters attached blue balloons, the party's symbolic color, to their hats and held placards in their hands, waiting for Candidate Lee even before the event started.

The meeting hall was filled to the point where most seats were occupied amid a heated atmosphere, and attendees who could not find seats stood at the back to watch the concert.

Candidate Lee recorded a cumulative 73.28% in the vote of party members across 12 cities and provinces, and showed an overwhelming 79.69% vote share in the first national public opinion poll. On this day, most of his remarks focused on methodologies for a 'winning party.'

The main point was to restore public trust with feasible promises rather than excessive pledges, and to strongly drive the plan for national party expansion by increasing influence in Daegu and Gyeongbuk (TK), which have been almost Democratic Party strongholds.

Candidate Lee said, "We have received great sovereignty from the people by making all kinds of promises," but added, "However, I have heard many promises, but not much about them being fulfilled."

He said, "The way to gain trust from the people is not difficult," and added, "Do not make excessive promises to the people, present feasible promises, and once promised, you must keep them."

He continued, "One hour of the mayor of Seongnam is worth 1 million hours, one hour of the governor of Gyeonggi Province is worth 13.8 million hours, and one hour of the president is worth 52 million hours," emphasizing, "We must do our best to be recognized by the people with sincerity."

Candidate Lee also explained, "To realize the hope of becoming an excellent political force responsible for the future of the Republic of Korea, national party expansion is key."

He particularly pointed out, "TK is a really difficult region. First, there are hardly any party members, and the party leadership itself almost does not exist," and added, "Because candidates run and just quit if they lose, the figures change all the time."

Politics is a process of winning voters' hearts through relationships, but frequent changes in figures have prevented the foundation from being established.

Regarding this, he said, "The party has not come up with any measures or made concrete efforts," analyzing, "Because the party leader changes again after two years, it is a structure where long-term plans are difficult."

Finally, he reiterated, "Unless we face a big problem or a special variable favorable to the opponent arises, we must make it a party that can win routinely, and we certainly have the capability to do so."

Before this Gwangju schedule, Candidate Lee met with party members and supporters from the eastern region of Jeonnam at Suncheon National University in the morning, and in the afternoon, he listened to the voices of party members and supporters from the western region of Jeonnam at the Kim Dae-jung Nobel Peace Prize Memorial Hall.
