Held Again After 4 Years to Increase Income for Hanwoo Farmers and Revitalize Distribution
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Andong City, Gyeongbuk Province, is hosting the selection of the "16th Andong Hanwoo Promotion Ambassador," organized by the National Hanwoo Association Andong Branch and Andong MBC.
The 16th Andong Hanwoo Promotion Ambassador selection contest is open to any unmarried women aged 18 or older.
Applications can be submitted until August 26, and inquiries can be made to the Andong City Hall Livestock Promotion Division or the National Hanwoo Association Andong Branch.
This event, held again after four years, aims to widely promote the excellence of high-quality Andong Hanwoo, which has received the National Consumer-Centered Brand Award (six consecutive years) and the TV Chosun Management Award (four consecutive years), both domestically and internationally. Furthermore, it seeks to increase demand through consumption promotion, thereby raising income for Hanwoo farmers facing difficulties such as rising feed costs and revitalizing distribution.
The selection contest will choose three winners (Grand Prize, Excellence Prize, and Beauty Prize) including four special awards. The preliminary round will be held on September 3, followed by the final round on October 4.
The final selection contest is scheduled for 6:30 PM on October 4, with the venue to be decided later.
Each of the 21 candidates who pass the preliminary screening will receive 1 million KRW to cover expenses for the final round. After a training camp, seven winners (Grand Prize, Excellence Prize, Beauty Prize, and Special Awards) will be awarded prize money and trophies.
The winners of the Grand Prize, Excellence Prize, and Beauty Prize will actively promote Andong Hanwoo as well as local specialties, tourism, culture, and sports for two years.
A city official stated, “We hope for the enthusiastic participation and support of citizens in the 16th Andong Hanwoo Promotion Ambassador selection contest, which promotes Andong Hanwoo, a representative local specialty.”
