MZ Generation's Popular Jjanmang Loopy Character Store Opens in Incheon Airport Terminal 2 Kids Zone
New K-Beauty Brand Launches and New Sunglasses Zone Created to Welcome Travelers
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Shinsegae Duty Free announced on the 11th that it opened a store featuring the trending character 'Janmang Loopy' at its Incheon Airport branch on the 10th.
Since all international flight restrictions were lifted in June and the summer peak season arrived, the number of overseas travelers has been increasing. In response, Shinsegae Duty Free is revitalizing its stores through various promotions and new store openings for travelers.
This time, a new Janmang Loopy character store, popular mainly among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), was newly opened at Terminal 2 of Incheon International Airport. Janmang Loopy will welcome global tourists alongside Pororo and Kakao characters.
Janmang Loopy is a sub-character created by exaggerating the playful and mischievous traits of Loopy, a friend character of Pororo. It is popular enough to have 170,000 followers on Instagram. It collaborates with various brands such as food companies, movie theaters, and baseball teams, and recently signed a contract as an airline model.
At Shinsegae Duty Free Incheon Airport branch, customers can find various character products including Janmang Loopy plush dolls, cushions, keyrings, smart talks, figures, and notebooks.
Meanwhile, Shinsegae Duty Free Incheon Airport branch recently opened new domestic beauty brand stores. Brands such as 'Dr.G', 'Abib', 'Cell Fusion C', 'Isoi', 'Suiskin', and 'Luna' were newly opened at the Incheon Airport branch, while 'Clio', 'Dear Dahlia', and 'Chan & Park' were additionally opened in the Incheon Airport passenger terminal.
A Shinsegae Duty Free official said, "The number of departing passengers in July increased by 35% compared to June, reaching about 30% of the 2019 level," adding, "We hope returning travelers can enjoy duty-free shopping with the Janmang Loopy character and the introduction of new K-beauty brands."
