[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Qualcomm Technologies announced on the 11th that its flagship product, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform, has been installed in Samsung Electronics' cutting-edge foldable smartphones, the 'Galaxy Z Fold4' and 'Galaxy Z Flip4.'

The Snapdragon 8+ is Qualcomm's latest flagship platform, delivering enhanced power and performance for all on-device experiences. Additionally, Samsung's new Galaxy Z series features Qualcomm FastConnect 6900, providing premium Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities that support fast and continuous connectivity.

Christopher Patrick, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Qualcomm's Mobile Devices Division, said, "Based on a strong partnership with Samsung that has lasted over 20 years, Qualcomm strives to deliver premium Android experiences and provide consumers with the most innovative mobile experiences and connectivity." According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 offers enhanced performance and high power efficiency in the Galaxy Z series. It delivers excellent responsiveness, superior image quality, and rich color HDR scenes. The Snapdragon 8+ is equipped with Qualcomm Adreno GPU and Qualcomm Kryo CPU, providing up to 10% faster graphics processing unit (GPU) speed and central processing unit (CPU) processing, and up to 30% improved GPU and CPU power efficiency, delivering the best gaming experience. It is powered by the 7th generation Qualcomm Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engine, boasting up to 20% improved performance per watt. It also includes a Trust Management Engine to enhance application (app) and service security.
