[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Hannam University is participating in the Indonesian local ODA (Official Development Assistance) project led by the government.
According to the university on the 10th, KIAT (Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology) selected the "K-Smart Logistics Technology Center and Human Resource Development Project for Innovation in Indonesia's e-Commerce Distribution Industry," which is being promoted by a consortium formed by Hannam University and Lotte Global Logistics Co., Ltd., as an official ODA project.
Following the selection, Hannam University's K-Digital Talent Development Project Group and Lotte Global Logistics will jointly establish a detailed plan by the end of the year, conduct a feasibility evaluation, and after the government's final approval, invest a budget of approximately 12 billion KRW over four years to transfer Korea's smart logistics technology to Indonesia.
In this process, the university will be responsible for education and training aimed at cultivating smart logistics personnel, including basic IT courses, big data, machine learning, deep learning, and international logistics. Additionally, Lotte Global Logistics will undertake the construction of a smart logistics center to implement e-commerce fulfillment (comprehensive logistics outsourcing) services.
In particular, Hannam University plans to support the development of Indonesia's digital-based IT workforce by establishing smart logistics-related departments at local universities. Based on the success of this project, the university also envisions expanding Korea's smart technology ODA to ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries.
Professor Shin Yoon-sik of the Department of Management Information Systems at Hannam University, the project’s overall director, stated, “We will transfer Korea’s advanced e-commerce logistics system to Indonesia and make the K-logistics system the protocol for Indonesian logistics, thereby achieving export effects in fields such as IT solutions, software, machinery equipment, and robotics.”
