LG Chem Introduces Endovision's 'Kiomer'... Full-Scale Entry into Domestic Wound Dressing Market

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] LG Chem announced on the 8th that it will introduce 'Kiomer-3' and 'Kiomer-Plus,' medical professional wound dressings used for skin wound protection and contamination prevention, from Endovision, a bio new material development and medical device manufacturing company.

The Kiomer series, independently developed by Endovision and commercialized last December, is a gel-type medical device product that forms a film over skin damage areas caused by itching, dryness, etc., maintaining moisture and promoting wound healing.

Since its main components are collagen and plant-based (mushroom extract) chitosan, it does not cause allergic side effects from animal-based chitosan, and it is applied topically on the skin, so there is no injection pain.

LG Chem plans to provide a differentiated customer experience as a comprehensive medical skincare solution by additionally securing wound dressings following beauty fillers (brand name Evear) and skin booster cosmetics (brand name ASCE+).

An LG Chem official said, "Wound dressings are receiving great attention in the skin disease treatment market not only for their effect of improving the skin barrier but also for proven anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects," adding, "We will accelerate market penetration based on the differentiated product power of the Kiomer series and LG Chem's sales and marketing capabilities."

Endovision, located in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Advanced Medical Complex, develops and sells products such as hemostatic dressings, epidural catheters, and medical cutting instruments in addition to wound dressings, and is researching and developing innovative medical products such as next-generation hemostatic agents, wound treatments, and tissue regeneration medical devices.
