[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Seogang Seok) will hold the ‘2022 Songpa-gu Online Job Fair’ on the 28th, where job seekers can select and listen to corporate recruitment information from home.
Six companies will participate in this job fair: LG Electronics, GE Healthcare Korea, Adecco Korea, Donggu Bio Pharmaceutical, RSUPPORT, and Megazone Cloud. These participating companies plan to hire about 60 talents in the second half of this year.
The district invited HR practitioners from various companies, including youth-friendly companies with excellent wages, work-life balance, and employment stability, as well as large corporations and foreign companies, to increase job seekers’ satisfaction and provide a good working environment for young people.
The event will be held live online via the video conferencing program Zoom from 4 PM to 8 PM on July 28. It can be viewed nationwide from anywhere using a personal laptop or PC.
HR practitioners will introduce their companies and explain recruitment schedules and procedures, answering pre-submitted and live questions from applicants. This will provide companies with promotional opportunities and offer practical recruitment information to job seekers.
Job seekers wishing to participate can apply online by July 27 through the QR code on the poster posted in the announcements section of the Songpa-gu Office website. There is no limit on the number of applicants.
For inquiries, contact the Songpa-gu Job Policy Officer.
Seogang Seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “Opportunities come only to those who are prepared,” adding, “We hope this job fair will be a stepping stone for young people’s employment success, and we will continue to discover job projects that satisfy both companies and job seekers in line with the changing employment market.”
Gangnam-gu (Mayor Cho Seongmyeong) is recruiting the ‘Short-form Creator 2nd Generation’ through the district website until August 21, producing promotional content for Gangnam-gu in short videos of about 30 seconds.
The main target is the MZ generation, but anyone with talent in cultural arts such as singing or dancing can apply. The district plans to actively communicate with residents through short-form content related to Gangnam-gu, planned and produced directly by the creators. About 15 people will be selected, and the chosen creators must produce one short-form video per month from September 1 to November 20. Those who meet the requirements will receive a completion award and a prize of 500,000 KRW.
The district will additionally award outstanding performers with Grand Prize (1 person, 1,000,000 KRW), Excellence Award (2 people, 700,000 KRW each), Merit Award (2 people, 500,000 KRW each), and Encouragement Award (2 people, 300,000 KRW each). For more details, refer to the Gangnam-gu Office website.
Cho Seongmyeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, said, “Through the activities of the first generation of short-form creators selected last January, we discovered the infinite potential of citizen-produced district promotional content,” adding, “We will continue to expand communication channels that can lead to residents’ participation and empathy.”
Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Wono) will operate various customized learning courses, including the digital specialized course ‘Google Certified Educator Program,’ at the Kumho-dong Dokseodang Humanities Academy Lifelong Learning Center starting August 16.
This regular course offers a total of 15 classes, including lifestyle-oriented courses such as wine, real estate, and humanities, which have high resident interest and response, as well as digital specialization fields. In the previous quarter, customized field learning courses such as ‘Museum Exploration with a Docent’ received high praise from residents.
In particular, the digital special lectures are part of the 2022 ‘Lifelong Learning City Specialization Project’ selected by the National Institute for Lifelong Education, offering four special courses including the ‘Google Certified Educator Certification’ program.
By taking this course, participants can easily obtain the ‘Google Certified Educator Level 1’ certificate, which evaluates the ability to utilize various Google platforms.
Additionally, the digital course ‘Creating My Own World in the Metaverse’ allows participants to correctly understand the concept of the metaverse, a future technology, and its impact on society. Moreover, by directly using metaverse creation platforms to build their own metaverse environment, participants can enjoy communication experiences in the digital world beyond just technical tools.
The courses will run from August 16 to September 30, with 15 courses offered either offline or online (via ZOOM). Registration opens on August 8 on the Seongdong-gu website on a first-come, first-served basis. Anyone who is a resident, worker, or university student in Seongdong-gu can apply.
The courses are free of charge. For more information, visit the Seongdong-gu Lifelong Learning Center website or contact the district’s Education Support Division.
Jung Wono, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, “We have prepared education to strengthen smart capabilities so that no residents are left behind due to the digital divide in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” adding, “We will continue to provide higher-quality and diverse learning opportunities to create a lifelong learning city where residents actively participate and lead.”
