The youth rental housing located at 70 Gyeongin-ro (Oryu-dong 360, Gyerim West Valley) was built on a 13,461.53㎡ site with 2 basement floors and 7 above-ground floors. From the 1st to the 5th floor are 106 general youth rental housing units, and on the 6th and 7th floors are 43 Dojeonsuk units.

Among the 43 Dojeonsuk units, 16 households selected in the first recruitment in December last year are currently residing, and the district is recruiting second applicants for the remaining 27 units.

Applicants must meet all the set criteria as of the announcement date (July 15, 2022): one-person creative entrepreneurs, (preliminary) social entrepreneurs, or prospective entrepreneurs; Seoul residents who are members of a one-person household without homeownership; youth aged 19 to 39 (born between July 16, 1982, and July 15, 2003); and meet the standards for average monthly urban worker income and assets.

Selected young entrepreneurs can move in at a relatively low rent for up to six years (two years lease with the possibility of two extensions after evaluations before contract expiration) to focus on their startups.

Youth entrepreneurs wishing to apply must submit the application form, business plan, resident registration certificate and abstract, family relation certificate, and other required documents for youth entrepreneurs via email (holmes1438@guro.go.kr) by the 31st of this month.

Details on application methods and qualifications can be found on the district office website under News and Notices.

A Guro-gu official said, “We hope young people preparing for startups can freely express their dreams and passion at Dojeonsuk,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to support youth in preparing for a hopeful future.”

Guro-gu 'Dojeonsuk' Second Round of Tenant Recruitment On July 14, students from Seoul Magnet High School visited TOrder Co., Ltd. for a corporate-linked career experience.

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) launched a corporate-linked career experience program and operated it for the first time on the 14th with 17 students from Seoul Magnet High School.

Geumcheon-gu is home to the advanced industrial complex ‘G Valley,’ leading the 4th Industrial Revolution. This program is the first excellent corporate-linked career experience initiative to nurture talents who will lead future society by utilizing outstanding industrial infrastructure. It was prepared to provide students with opportunities to visit actual industrial sites, hear advice from experts, and learn about future industries.

The first excellent corporate-linked career experience program was conducted in cooperation with TOrder Co., Ltd. and Seoul Magnet High School. Seven first-year and ten second-year students from the Smart Contents Department participated.

The company visited, TOrder Co., Ltd., is an IT company developing tablet menus and robot unmanned ordering systems. It won first place in the tablet menu category at the Consumer Satisfaction Brand Awards last year and has recorded an average growth rate of 742% from its founding in 2019 until July this year.

The company visit program included product demonstrations developed by the company, recruitment procedure guidance, and a CEO lecture. The HR team provided detailed tips such as ‘introduction to the development team’s work,’ ‘recruitment scale,’ ‘advice for job seekers,’ and ‘key considerations during hiring.’

The CEO lecture by Kwon Seong-taek, CEO of TOrder, was highly engaging for students as he easily conveyed the company’s growth process, management, and startup story. Students asked various questions such as ‘the reason for founding TOrder,’ ‘what is most necessary for startups,’ ‘thoughts on working before studying as a company representative,’ ‘computer languages used in tablet menus,’ and ‘certifications needed to become a developer.’

CEO Kwon sincerely advised, “You don’t need to start with big dreams from the beginning. It’s good to start and achieve little by little,” and “Opportunities come to those who are prepared. The end of entrepreneurship is drive. Some only think, but some take action. I hope you aim to take action and produce results.”

Geumcheon-gu plans to continuously develop career experience programs in cooperation with companies in various fields based on this company visit.

Lee Gyun-soon, principal of Seoul Magnet High School, said, “As the saying goes, seeing once is better than hearing a hundred times. Visiting the site and seeing the company directly seems to be very helpful for students.”

Yoo Seong-hoon, mayor of Geumcheon-gu, who participated to encourage students, said, “I hope visiting IT companies leading the 4th industry will help students take an interest in future societal changes and accumulate knowledge,” and added, “We will actively strive to create a good educational environment that supports students in finding their career paths.”
