[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Hanjin announced on the 11th that it has tentatively recorded consolidated sales of 706.8 billion KRW and operating profit of 29.8 billion KRW for the second quarter of this year.
Compared to the same period last year, sales increased by 17.8% and operating profit rose by 8.4%. Compared to the first quarter, sales increased by 0.1%, but operating profit decreased by 13.4%.
Hanjin aims for annual sales of 2.664 trillion KRW and operating profit of 111.5 billion KRW this year. It presented a blueprint to become the "Asia's leading smart solution logistics company" by its 80th anniversary in 2025, achieving sales of 4.5 trillion KRW and operating profit of 200 billion KRW.
Cho Hyun-min, Chief Officer of Future Growth Strategy and Marketing, held a press conference on the 28th of last month and stated, "Just as Hanjin has led changes in the logistics industry as a pioneer, we will also lead future changes."
