[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation recently announced on the 11th that it successfully concluded the ‘2022 SUMMER CHECK-IN PARTY’ at the first-floor complex cultural space of the Gwangju Citizens' Hall.
This event was planned jointly by Gwangju Metropolitan City and Moram Platform as part of the Gwangju Citizens' Hall Youth Startup Support Project.
With participation from 14 local youth startup teams and 13 local small business experience sellers, the event actively promoted a variety of products reflecting the know-how of entrepreneurs, ranging from various design goods and handicrafts to food and beverages.
Additionally, various experience booths such as makeup, perfume making, and backdrop painting were set up to foster friendly communication with local residents, injecting new vitality into the region that had been stagnant due to COVID-19.
The flea market and experience booths, held over two days from 5 PM to 10 PM, attracted about 3,000 visitors including local residents and reservation visitors to the Citizens' Hall, revitalizing the local commercial district and creating a cyclical process that serves as a place for communication among youth entrepreneurs.
Starting this year, the Gwangju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, along with the newly operated Gwangju Citizens' Hall Youth Startup Support Project, the New Business Startup Academy, and the Youth Local Creator Training Course, aims to discover and nurture local creator startup companies within the Gwangju area, fostering mutual growth and development within the region to breathe new life into the local economy.
Center Director Ha stated, “I hope the Gwangju Citizens' Hall becomes a catalyst for communication and exchange among youth entrepreneurs. We will review the achievements and outcomes of this event, improve areas that need enhancement, and strive to hold regular flea markets in the future to create a Gwangju with a high startup success rate, supporting the successful startup and stable business settlement of local youth entrepreneurs.”
