[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan Gijang-gun is recruiting participants for the ‘2022 Youth Rights and Participation Camp’ to discover talented youth and foster leaders.
The ‘2022 Youth Rights and Participation Camp’ is a project selected through the ‘Gijang-gun Youth Participatory Budgeting’ contest. The camp is a curriculum-linked program designed to strengthen youth capabilities through understanding and experiencing local community policies and environments related to youth during the summer vacation.
The camp consists of ▲Youth Policy Academy ▲Youth Policy Development Camp ▲Busan Village Exploration Program.
The ‘Youth Policy Academy’ is a 3-day, 2-night growth camp that enhances flexible thinking and logical expression skills through ▲talk concerts ▲team building and team missions ▲money caf? ▲Global Citizen ▲MZ leadership ▲growth compass ▲presentation activities.
Eligible participants are youth aged 14 to 19 residing in Gijang-gun, with a total of 120 participants recruited in 3 sessions of 40 participants each.
Until the 12th, recommendations will be primarily accepted from local middle and high schools and youth-related organizations, and from the 13th to the 20th, individual youth can apply through the Gijang-gun Youth Center website.
The ‘Youth Policy Development Camp’ selects 40 outstanding participants from the 120 youth who attended the ‘Youth Policy Academy’ to develop youth policies and proposals for the youth participatory budgeting system in Gijang-gun.
The discovered policies and proposals will be submitted to the 2023 youth policy and youth participatory budgeting contests.
The ‘Busan Village Exploration’ program allows the 40 outstanding participants to visit and experience villages with exemplary youth policy cases in the Busan area.
A Gijang-gun official stated, “Youth-related policies in Gijang-gun have been developed to meet the perspectives of youth, and we have listened carefully to youth voices so that their opinions can be reflected in policies. We expect that the camp will strengthen youth capabilities and lead to the development of various policies for youth.”
