50.9% Say Broadcasting Commission Chair and Rights Commission Chair Should Serve Full Term vs 37.9% Say They Should Resign Voluntarily

[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] On the 24th, a public opinion poll revealed that Democratic Party members Park Ju-min and Park Yong-jin are considered the best candidates for generational change.

According to a poll released on the same day by Media Tomato (conducted by Media Tomato from the 21st to 22nd via wireless ARS method targeting 1,069 adults aged 18 and over nationwide), 15.2% of respondents chose Park Ju-min as the suitable candidate for generational change in the Democratic Party, while 12.9% selected Park Yong-jin. Former Supreme Council member Kim Hae-young and Assemblyman Kang Byung-won received 9.6% and 4.0% respectively. The largest group, 28.9%, answered "Don't know," and 23.4% supported other individuals.


Regarding current issues, the opinion that "the legal term should be guaranteed" for agency heads appointed during the Moon Jae-in administration, such as the Chairman of the Korea Communications Commission and the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, was the most common at 50.7%, while 37.9% responded that they should voluntarily resign.


Regarding investigations into the Moon Jae-in administration, 44.4% viewed it as a purge of deep-rooted evils, while 43.8% saw it as political retaliation, showing a close split. On the other hand, regarding Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate in the last election, 52.7% believed the investigation was a legitimate inquiry into allegations, surpassing the 41.2% who saw it as political retaliation.
