The Korea Bookstore Federation held the '2022 Extraordinary General Meeting' on the 17th at the Korea Bookstore Federation conference room in Guro-gu, Seoul, and elected the current president Lee Jong-bok as the 41st president. Auditors appointed were Lim Junsun, CEO of Open Bookstore, and Jo Juhyun, CEO of Yuhan Books.
In his inaugural speech, President Lee stated, "I will make greater efforts for the 'Healthy Bookstore, Healthy Distribution Ecosystem' that we have aimed for, and we will become a strong federation by adhering to unwavering principles." He added, "I will do my best to create bookstores that are healthy, competitive, and can be passed down to juniors and future generations."
The Korea Bookstore Federation is a corporation aimed at improving the rights and interests of bookstore owners nationwide. It is currently conducting projects related to promoting the nation's reading culture, such as the regional bookstore portal site BookstoreON, BookstoreON POS (a distribution-type POS for regional bookstores), youth book tokens, Bookstore Day operations, Bookstore School, and late-night bookstores.
