[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Genitics is showing strong performance following the news that the government will start a health management service certification system using smartphones and wearable devices from this year. Genitics is known as the global market leader in wearable touch ICs.

As of 10:35 AM on the 21st, Genitics is trading at 2,680 KRW, up 8.06% compared to the previous trading day.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 20th that it discussed plans for the pilot project of the newly launched 'Health Management Service Certification System' this year through the 4th National Health Promotion Policy Deliberation Committee.

Health management (healthcare) services involve measuring health information such as heart rate, sleep, nutrition, and lifestyle through smartphone applications and wearable devices, and providing health consultations.

The ministry plans to conduct a pilot certification system project for about two years starting this month, with the intention to improve and expand it. The Ministry of Health and Welfare expects that the certification system will further activate health management services.

Meanwhile, Genitics produces dedicated touch IC products used in wearable devices. Genitics supplies chips to Samsung Galaxy Watch, Huawei, Xiaomi, and it is known that Genitics ICs are included in 3 out of the top 5 products in the global smartwatch market.
