[Seoul District News] Gwanak-gu Moves Beyond Lecture-Style Training for Licensing and Tax Departments to Foster Open Communication for Integrity Improvement... Dongjak-gu Recruits Participants for ‘Innovation Camp in Dongjak-gu’ Offering One-Stop Support from Education to Employment
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) announced that it is operating a ‘Visiting Integrity Talk’ targeting the permit and taxation departments to spread a culture of integrity.
The Visiting Integrity Talk is a project where the audit officer and those in charge of integrity visit department offices directly to conduct education related to integrity, listen to difficulties encountered during work promotion, and discover ways to improve integrity that can be felt on-site.
Starting with the first session on the 8th and continuing until the 16th, this ‘Visiting Integrity Talk’ is expected to contribute to raising the will and awareness of integrity and spreading a culture of integrity within the organization through a mutually free communication time on the theme of integrity, rather than a one-sided education format.
The main contents of the Integrity Talk include ▲ explanation of vulnerable areas in integrity and discussion of improvement measures ▲ elective education (Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, audit cases, daily audits, proactive administration) ▲ promotion of corruption and public interest reporting, corruption reporting center ▲ discussion of difficulties and improvement measures during work promotion.
In particular, to increase interest and effectiveness of the education, elective education is conducted by pre-registering the desired education from the relevant departments. Also, after the Visiting Integrity Talk, a satisfaction survey is conducted and used for future integrity policies, strengthening the promotion of policies that reflect voices from the field.
The district plans to continue to promote new types of education to spread a culture of integrity beyond the existing educational framework, striving to create an organizational culture where employees can think about integrity more actively.
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “We will continue to discover and promote integrity policies that citizens and employees can feel and empathize with according to changing integrity trends, and do our best to create a transparent Gwanak-gu.”
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) is recruiting participants for the ‘Innovation Camp in Dongjak-gu,’ which provides one-stop support from education to employment as the demand for developers steadily increases across all industries.
This Innovation Camp is a program jointly run by the district and Team Sparta to provide integrated support from education to work experience for young job seekers who wish to become developers in the 4th industrial revolution fields.
In particular, this time, to reduce the financial burden on participants, the entire cost worth about 4 million KRW from education to employment is fully supported, making the program free of charge.
Last year, considering the severe youth employment difficulties, the district conducted training courses to nurture experts in big data, applied software engineering, and artificial intelligence (AI) in the 4th industrial field, with a total of 57 participants.
This year, to enhance the professionalism of the curriculum and the completion rate compared to last year, three training courses have been integrated into one, and training incentives are provided separately.
The camp is recruiting a total of 50 participants, and anyone aged 34 or younger who resides in Dongjak-gu or is a graduate (or expected graduate) of a university (graduate school) located in the area can apply.
The application period is until the 22nd, and the final selection will be announced individually to successful candidates on the 4th of next month after comprehensive evaluation of self-introduction video submissions and entrance exam results.
Applications can be submitted by accessing the ‘Sparta Coding Club’ website and applying through the ‘National Subsidy - Innovation Camp’ menu at the top of the main page.
Education will be conducted remotely via a metaverse platform from July 11 to October 21, operating full-time from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday (6 days a week).
The main educational contents include ▲ after basic education, choosing a major between frontend and backend for advanced education ▲ development of practical skills through multiple team projects and feedback from current professionals ▲ integrated support of ‘education + work experience.’

Jeon Hye-young, head of the Job Policy Division, said, “Through this camp, we will provide quality education to young people preparing for employment as developers and do our best to connect them to quality jobs through career support for employment.”
