Tourist Reception in Full Swing! ... Gyeongju City Selects 98 Sites for Facility and Environment Improvement Support Gyeongju City Hall.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gyeongju City, Gyeongbuk Province, has selected 98 locations for this year's Tourism Service Facility Environment Improvement Support Project.


This project is implemented to improve the quality of service in the tourism industry and enhance convenience for tourists. After screening by the Gyeongsangbuk-do Cultural Tourism Corporation, 98 locations were selected, including 90 restaurants and 8 lodging facilities.


The city will invest a total project cost of 1 billion KRW to carry out facility improvement projects.

Restaurants will replace open kitchens, restroom facilities, signs, and menus, while lodging facilities will improve indoor guide signs, promotional material stands, bedding, wallpaper, lighting, and other aspects.


Restaurants can receive up to 20 million KRW, and lodging facilities up to 5 million KRW in support, with at least 40% of the project cost to be borne by the establishments.


Gyeongju City plans to hold project briefings and consulting sessions for supported establishments to efficiently promote the project.

Mayor Joo Nak-young of Gyeongju said, “We will do our best to improve tourism industry services so that tourists visiting Gyeongju can have a good impression.”
