[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk has completed re-enrollment of safety insurance for all residents.

Cheongsong-gun announced on the 10th that it has enrolled all residents in the Residents' Safety Insurance with the Korea Local Finance Association as an institutional measure to stably respond in case of physical damage caused by unexpected accidents and disasters.

The enrollment targets are residents registered in Cheongsong-gun and foreigners (foreign nationals of Korean descent) registered at their place of residence (lodging), and enrollment was automatic without a separate application process.

The coverage period is one year from June 11 this year to June 10 next year, and it is renewed annually. If an accident occurs during the coverage period, the insured persons can receive benefits.

Compensation payments are possible regardless of where in the country the accident occurs, but compensation for damage caused by wild animals is only paid for accidents occurring in Cheongsong-gun. The maximum coverage amount is 20 million KRW per person and can be overlapped regardless of other insurance subscriptions.

The coverage includes 33 items such as: death by natural disaster (including heatstroke and sunstroke), death by explosion, fire, collapse injury (including sequelae), death by injury while using public transportation (including sequelae), death by hit-and-run/uninsured vehicle injury (including sequelae), death by robbery injury (including sequelae), death by drowning accident, emergency room treatment costs for dog bite accidents, and treatment costs for Silver Zone accidents.
