Park Woo-ryang, Shinan County Governor, "I Will Make the 1004 Islands a Place Where Everyone Wants to Live"

Policy Promotion Based on the Policy Foundation of the 8th Term Civil Election's 'Happy Residents' Initiative

[Sinan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Park Woo-ryang, governor of Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do from the Democratic Party of Korea, won with an overwhelming margin, securing 69.18% of the votes, totaling 17,349 votes.

Governor Park first expressed his gratitude, saying, "The trust and support given by the residents of Sinan-gun were the decisive factors for this overwhelming victory."

He stated, "The expectation and desire from the residents is for Park Woo-ryang, who works well, to transform the 1004 Islands of Sinan from an island people want to visit into an island where anyone wants to live," and emphasized, "With creative vision and bold execution, I will boldly open a new future for the 1004 Islands of Sinan."

Governor Park announced, "The newly starting 8th term of the local government will also base all policy principles on 'happy residents' and raise the happiness index so that not only residents but also people from other regions will want to live in Sinan."

As an implementation plan, he intends to expand lifelong pension beneficiary areas through renewable energy such as sunlight (solar power) pension, wind (wind power) pension, and wave (tidal power) pension.

He also plans to foster eco-friendly agriculture and fisheries such as oyster farming and banana greenhouses, and actively discover new income projects suitable for local conditions.

In particular, he aims to continuously promote the globally recognized 'One Island One Art Museum (Museum)' policy by the UN and others, create 'distinctive parks and unique gardens' in every eup and myeon, and establish a 'UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Management Center.'

Additionally, he plans to carefully look after residents by providing customized transportation welfare, continuously promoting land and island bridges, building at least one small-scale nursing home in each eup and myeon, and creating various educational spaces for future generations.

Governor Park emphasized, "I will devote all my spirit, passion, and sincerity to cultivate the 1004 Islands of Sinan with creativity and innovation, making it a proud hometown where residents can confidently say they are from Sinan wherever they go."
