“Working with Communication Leadership Looking 100 Years Ahead” Hong Taeyong, Gimhae Mayor Candidate, Announces Pledge Hong Taeyong, the People Power Party candidate for mayor of Gimhae, Gyeongnam, announcing pledges in the welfare and safety sectors.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Hong Taeyong, the People Power Party candidate for mayor of Gimhae, Gyeongnam, held a press conference on the 17th to announce his welfare and safety policy pledges.

Candidate Hong said, “According to the local government financial analysis released by the National Budget Research Institute, Gimhae ranked 74th out of 75 cities and was last within Gyeongnam Province,” and criticized, “Candidate Heo Seonggon, who knows better than anyone how difficult the city’s finances are, is irresponsibly promising a 100,000 won daily recovery support fund as a vote-buying act.”

He stated, “I will not waste a single penny of the hard-earned taxes,” and added, “Rather than deceiving citizens, I will communicate with them honestly and govern with integrity even if times are tough.”

He said that once fiscal soundness is secured, the top priority will be to provide daily recovery support funds to all citizens.

Candidate Hong declared, “Drawing on my experience as a doctor, I will establish a proper Gimhae-type health and medical system called the G-Care system.”

He promised ▲ the establishment of a tentatively named Gimhae Public Medical Center ▲ the introduction of a childbirth and childcare support package ▲ expansion of shared childcare spaces and cooperative child care ▲ creation of a wellness hub and a 24-hour specialized children’s hospital utilizing the Baek Hospital site in Samgye-dong.

He pledged, “Cerebrovascular disease, which was the cause of death of the late actress Kang Soo-yeon, is one of the top three causes of death among Koreans,” and promised to “make MRA, a precise cerebrovascular examination, mandatory and free for Gimhae citizens aged 40 and above.”

He also proposed ▲ creating a safe commuting environment for children and establishing a smart School Zone environment ▲ building dedicated children’s traffic shelters (waiting spaces) ▲ and launching a pilot project for women’s safe housing.

He emphasized, “Our city must no longer be a place where tears of farewell never dry due to tragic accidents,” and said, “We need thoughtful plans and policies that consider people, society, the environment, and our children.”

Candidate Hong appealed for support, saying, “I will create a beautiful and healthy Gimhae to pass on to our children with leadership that communicates and prepares for the next 100 years, not leadership focused on construction projects for immediate achievements.”
