[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Dong-joo] On the 17th, Kwon Young-se, Minister of Unification, attended the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee plenary session held at the National Assembly and drank water during the meeting as if feeling anxious.

The Ministry of Unification attempted to send a notification letter to the North, under the name of Minister Kwon Young-se, through the Inter-Korean Joint Liaison Office on the 16th for the purpose of cooperation in North Korea's COVID-19 quarantine, but the North has not yet expressed its intention to receive the notification.

Regarding this, former Minister of Unification Jeong Se-hyun appeared on TBS Radio's "Kim Eo-jun's News Factory" on the 17th and said, "There is a committee on unification issues called the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland within the North Korean Cabinet. The notification should have been sent there, but since it was sent to the head of the United Front Department, they say the reception was incorrect."
