Practical Training Conducted for 4,270 Participants by October
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Student Education Center announced on the 15th that from the 26th to October 28th, survival swimming and water activity experience education will be conducted at the Hangang Safe Survival Swimming Education Support Center.
The survival swimming education will be held from June to September for students from 5th grade elementary school to middle school students. Participants can experience wearing life jackets, entering and exiting the water, floating on their back, basic backstroke, body temperature protection, survival swimming, boarding life rafts, and rescue signals.
The water activity experience education will continue until October and is aimed at students from 5th grade to high school students. They can experience various water sports such as kayaking and rubber boats, enhancing their ability to respond to water safety accidents and fostering teamwork.
For safe education, all participating students will wear life jackets, and education staff qualified as water lifeguards and instructors will be assigned. Transportation between schools and the education center, as well as the operation of education programs, will all be provided free of charge.
The Daecheon Coastal Education Center of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Student Education Center stated, "Practical education could not be conducted for the past three years due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and through this education, we will support outdoor experiential activities that schools will increasingly demand." They added, "We aim to enhance the ability to respond to water safety accidents and provide youth with opportunities for healthy leisure activities."
