[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gumi City in Gyeongbuk Province and Gumi Library are jointly undertaking the creation of the ‘Reading Geumridan-gil’ project.
The Gumi City Urban Regeneration Support Center and the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education’s Gumi Library recently signed a business agreement to establish a collaborative relationship and promote regional development within the urban regeneration activation area.
Through the agreement, both parties agreed to mutually cooperate in providing and exchanging information related to urban regeneration, developing programs, consulting, and promoting creative projects to revitalize Seonjuwonnam-dong urban regeneration.
Both institutions will continue to consult to ensure the ‘Reading Geumridan-gil’ project within the Seonjuwonnam-dong urban regeneration activation area can be successfully activated.
This project involves creating a themed book caf? cultural street in Gaksan Village, linking it with urban regeneration resident proposal projects to establish a reading culture, and supporting Gaksan Village caf?s that specialize in alleyway resources like Geumridan-gil.
The city will build a human network for establishing the book caf?, while the library will plan and promote the book caf? cultural street.
A Gumi City official stated, “We hope to create small cultural spaces needed in Gaksan Village together with Gumi Library, making it a cultural street where local residents can feel comfortable and enjoy their time.”
