Reducing 22 Teams to 13, Strengthening Job-Centered Project Connectivity and Adjusting Manager Ratios
Enhancing Foundation's Social Responsibilities and Change Response System for Major Accidents, Ethics, Human Rights, and Digital Innovation
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul 50 Plus Foundation has undertaken organizational innovation to strengthen the growth engine of core projects centered on citizen demand and to efficiently respond to the changing future environment.
On the 6th, the foundation announced that it slimmed down the entire organization from 3 headquarters, 1 office, and 1 center to 2 headquarters and 1 office. Through efficient departmental restructuring, it secured organic connections between projects and significantly reduced the ratio of managers.
The project organizations, which were divided into the ‘Job Project Headquarters’ and the ‘Life Transition Support Headquarters,’ were integrated into the ‘Project Operations Headquarters’ to strengthen the overall project management function. The goal is to enhance the linkage between major projects connected through counseling, education, and work activity support, unify customer touchpoints, strengthen the job support function with the highest citizen demand, and improve the quality of services to citizens.
The function of integrally managing the Seoul 50 Plus Campus and centers will also be improved. To this end, the policy research team was reorganized to support the 50+ policy delivery system and strengthen leadership, and was incorporated into the Management Planning Headquarters.
Additionally, to fulfill the foundation’s social responsibilities such as responding to major disasters and strengthening digital infrastructure, a Safety General Affairs Team and a Digital Innovation Team were newly established to operate citizen safety and data-based projects.
This organizational restructuring was promoted to more clearly and effectively realize the foundation’s identity as an institution supporting solid preparation for old age through midlife life redesign. By strengthening the functions of ‘career development’ and ‘employment support,’ the foundation plans to promote the restructuring of core projects within the first half of the year, including the creation of a job ecosystem specialized for the 50+ generation, the creation of social contribution jobs, and linkage with specialized professional skills.
Acting CEO Koo Jong-won said, “This organizational restructuring was promoted as the first step of proactive innovation that strengthens the foundation’s public nature contributing to the happiness of more citizens and aligns with the changing Seoul city policies. We will accelerate the provision of policy services that 50+ citizens can feel, centered on the 16 50 Plus Campuses and centers in Seoul.”
