[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Nambu Fire Station of Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 19th that it conducted mountain accident rescue training and a safety campaign around Bunjuksan and Jeseoksan to prepare for spring mountain accidents.

This training was organized to help 119 rescue team members become proficient in equipment use and rescue techniques as the number of spring hikers increases, and it will be conducted a total of three times.

The main training started with theoretical education on mountain accident response procedures (Standard Operating Procedure SOP-314) and included ▲ slope overcoming training ▲ use of mountain rescue equipment ▲ horizontal descent training ▲ and life rescue for different types of distress accidents.

Additionally, on the day of the training, a simple emergency medical station was operated by mountain safety keepers, and a mountain accident safety campaign was conducted to promote a safe hiking culture.

Go Jung-hyun, head of the 119 Disaster Response Team, said, “Through training that simulates real situations, we will ensure the safety of our team members and strengthen on-site response capabilities to serve as protectors of citizens' safety. Furthermore, to promote safe hiking, we will continuously conduct safety campaigns so that hikers can thoroughly learn mountain accident prevention rules and action guidelines before hiking.”
