On the same day, Jeong said through social media (SNS), "Regarding the appointment of Han Dong-hoon, Deputy Chief of the Judicial Research and Training Institute, as Minister of Justice, the Democratic Party is reacting strongly, declaring a 'prosecutor republic' and blatant political retaliation," adding, "Unless Deputy Minister Han lacks ability and qualifications, the Democratic Party’s behavior reminds me of the saying ‘A heart scarred by a snake is scared of a pot lid,’ as if they are already frightened and defending themselves due to trauma from political retaliation, which is regrettable."

He stated, "So far, President-elect Yoon has explained that the top personnel criterion is whether one has the ability, competence, and character to serve the people," and "He also promised the public that there would be no political retaliation."

Jeong urged, "The Democratic Party must break away from the self-contradiction and obstructionist old-fashioned politics they have shown so far," and "As the overwhelming majority party, they should thoroughly review the 'complete prosecution reform' legislative unilateralism they declared and show communication and cooperation even now."
