[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] The South Korea-U.S. Policy Consultation Delegation dispatched by President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol met with Pfizer during their visit to the U.S. to discuss cooperation for the early domestic supply of the COVID-19 treatment 'Paxlovid,' the president-elect's office announced on the 14th.


On the morning of the 14th, Bae Hyunjin, spokesperson for the president-elect, held a briefing at the transition office in Tongui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, stating, "President-elect Yoon instructed that while Representative Park Jin was visiting the U.S. as the head of the delegation, he should visit Pfizer's headquarters in New York," conveying this information.


Spokesperson Bae added, "Head of the delegation Park Jin reported that they agreed to closely cooperate with the Korean government for the early domestic supply of Paxlovid," and "Pfizer also responded that they will do their best to consult with the Yoon Seok-yeol administration to meet the supply demands for the Korean people."


He emphasized, "President-elect Yoon will continue efforts to ensure the smooth supply of COVID-19 treatments through follow-up consultations with Pfizer."
