Kim San, Muan County Governor, Declares Bid for Re-election

'Continuous Development of Muan, Leader Needed with Experience in Overcoming Crises'

[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Kim San, the governor of Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, has declared his bid for re-election in the June 1 local elections.

Governor Kim held a press conference today on the 3rd floor of the main building of the county office, emphasizing the need for a leader with experience in overcoming crises in the post-COVID-19 era.

Governor Kim evaluated himself as having achieved various accomplishments despite the COVID-19 crisis, including being an excellent institution in job creation, receiving excellent ratings for two consecutive years in local government productivity evaluations, four consecutive years of excellence in agricultural machinery rental business evaluations, and ranking first nationwide in the 2021 local government administrative competency evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

On this day, Governor Kim presented five pledges for the uninterrupted development of Muan during the 8th term of the elected administration.

He announced plans to create 12,000 jobs through revitalizing Muan International Airport, establishing an advanced aviation cluster, and early completion of the aviation-specialized industrial complex; attracting the Jeonnam branch of the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology; fostering advanced future agriculture to respond to climate change; and upgrading Muan to city status.

Governor Kim stated, “I will make creating youth jobs the top priority of county administration by successfully establishing the aviation-specialized complex and building a foundation for the 4th industrial economy, and I will do my best to run again.”

On this day, numerous supporters of Governor Kim gathered at the main gate of the county office, chanting for the re-election of Governor Kim, who exchanged greetings and expressed gratitude to his supporters.
