Gyeongsang National University to Host Online Joint Recruitment Fair for Ulsan and Gyeongnam Regional Talents via Metaverse

Job Counseling and Employment Support Programs at 17 Public Institutions Until the 8th

Gyeongsang National University to Host Online Joint Recruitment Fair for Ulsan and Gyeongnam Regional Talents via Metaverse Joint Recruitment Fair Announcement.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Gyeongsang National University is holding the 2022 Ulsan·Gyeongnam Regional Talent Online Joint Recruitment Briefing Session metaverse event, with the participation of 17 public institutions, in collaboration with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Ulsan City, and Gyeongnam Province.

This event is part of a project conducted as one of the agreements signed in July 2021 to expand the recruitment of regional talents in Ulsan and Gyeongnam. It has expanded from last year's Zoom video training format. By utilizing the metaverse, the focus was placed on communication, allowing participants to meet and consult directly with public institution representatives in a virtual space.

On the first day of the event, 346 people from across the country, including more than 20 universities and specialized high schools in the Gyeongnam and Ulsan regions, as well as participants from Busan, Gyeongbuk, Seoul, and Gyeonggi, took part in the public institution recruitment briefing and various programs.

The event is characterized by its design to enable direct communication in the metaverse space rather than indirect communication methods.

Within the metaverse event hall, lecture rooms and consultation booths were created to encourage direct communication with public institution representatives, and spaces were set up where public institution job practitioners could share stories about their fieldwork.

Additionally, a space was provided where new employees of public institutions shared their employment secrets. This was planned to share vivid information about public institutions that job seekers are curious about.

Furthermore, employment support programs such as special lectures on public institution employment, consultations, and practical interview coaching were also conducted together in the metaverse.

The university introduced that more than 300 people participated in a preliminary briefing session prepared to help adapt to the unfamiliar system, showing interest in the metaverse event.

Gyeongsang National University President Kwon Soon-ki said, “With growing interest in employment at public institutions, there are limitations to simple recruitment briefings, so we aimed to create a venue where participants can communicate directly with public institution representatives through the metaverse,” adding, “We will serve as a hub for communication between public institutions relocated to the Ulsan·Gyeongnam innovation city and regional talents.”

The event started on the 5th and will continue until the 8th. Recruitment consultations with 17 public institutions, mentoring by job practitioners, employment stories from new employees, and employment support programs are being conducted, and detailed information can be found on the website.
