Dongkook Pharmaceutical Donates Surgery Costs for Low-Income Patients with Varicose Veins

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Dongkook Pharmaceutical announced on the 6th that it has delivered surgery expenses for low-income patients with varicose veins in the lower extremities, accumulated through the 'Step Donation Campaign with Sensia,' to the Community Chest of Korea.

The 'Step Donation Campaign with Sensia,' held from February 7 to March 6, was a social contribution campaign jointly organized by Dongkook Pharmaceutical's venous circulation improvement agent 'Sensia,' the Community Chest of Korea 'Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest,' and the mobile healthcare platform 'WalkOn.'

About 40,000 participants joined the month-long campaign, achieving 759% of the target step count of 1 billion steps, enabling the provision of surgery expenses for low-income patients with varicose veins in the lower extremities. Dongkook Pharmaceutical also held a separate event for its employees, selecting the 'Dongkook Pharmaceutical Step Donation King.'

Kim Jin-gon, Secretary General of the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest, said, "We thank everyone who showed interest in low-income patients with varicose veins and participated in this campaign," adding, "We will deliver the warm support and love of the campaign participants well to the patients awaiting varicose vein surgery."

A representative of Dongkook Pharmaceutical stated, "Thanks to many participants, we were able to successfully conclude the 'Step Donation Campaign with Sensia,'" and added, "We will continue to take the lead in various social contribution activities that can contribute to society."

The 'Step Donation Campaign with Sensia' is an event where participants can take care of their health and contribute to donations through walking, one of the good habits to prevent and manage venous circulation disorders. In particular, it supports surgery expenses for low-income patients with varicose veins in the lower extremities who usually experience discomfort in walking due to leg swelling, pain, and numbness but cannot receive treatment due to economic conditions.
