[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Gyeongsangnam-do signed a business agreement on the 4th with public institutions in Gyeongnam Innovation City and the Labor Union Council to promote the use of eGyeongnam Mall.

The signing ceremony was attended by Ha Byeongpil, Acting Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do, Jang Jinho, Chairman of the Gyeongnam Public Institutions Labor Union Council, and representatives from Korea Land and Housing Corporation, Korea South-East Power, Korea Ceramic Technology Institute, Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, Korea Copyright Commission, Korea Elevator Safety Agency, Central Customs Analysis Office, and Housing Management Corporation.

eGyeongnam Mall is a regional representative shopping mall with 439 companies participating, selling Gyeongsangnam-do recommended products (QC), Safe Farm products, Iroro, excellent agricultural, fishery, and livestock products from cities and counties, as well as products from social economy enterprises.

The province began efforts to revitalize eGyeongnam Mall and expand sales channels for local agricultural and marine products by signing a purchase agreement with power group companies in the Gyeongnam region in March last year.

Agreements have also been made with Korea Aerospace Industries, LG Electronics, Doosan Heavy Industries, Samsung Heavy Industries, and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, and this year, efforts are underway to expand agreements with public institutions and companies.

This agreement involves public institutions relocated to Gyeongnam Innovation City and the Labor Union Council participating together.

The Public Institutions Labor Union Council in Gyeongnam Innovation City, established in 2013, consists of labor unions and workplace councils of relocated public institutions, and annually conducts events such as kimchi-making and visits to underprivileged households.

A provincial official stated, “This agreement will promote the purchase of products made by local farmers, fishermen, and small business owners who are struggling due to COVID-19, providing practical help to increase their income.”

Ha Byeongpil, Acting Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do, said, “The public institutions relocated to Gyeongnam Innovation City will be a good example of coexistence with local residents and fulfillment of social responsibility. We will work together for the joint development of relocated public institutions and the local community.”
