‘Minsun 7th Term Mokpo City’ Achieves Highest Grade in Pledge Fulfillment

Promise Fulfillment, Resident Communication, and 5 Other Areas: Total Score 90 out of 100, SA Grade

‘Minsun 7th Term Mokpo City’ Achieves Highest Grade in Pledge Fulfillment

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Mokpo City in Jeollanam-do announced that it was the only city in Jeollanam-do to receive the highest grade (SA) in the ‘2022 National Basic Local Government Heads Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure Evaluation’ conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.

According to the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters on the 1st, this evaluation was conducted targeting basic local governments of cities, counties, and districts nationwide. After the first evaluation, which monitored and analyzed materials posted on city, county, and district office websites from February 14 to March 4, local governments’ explanations and supplementary materials were reviewed before the announcement.

The evaluation items included ▲Pledge Fulfillment Completion (100 points) ▲2021 Goal Achievement (100 points) ▲Resident Communication (100 points) ▲Web Communication (Success/Failure) ▲Pledge Consistency (Success/Failure). Each detailed indicator was evaluated according to the evaluation items, and the results were converted into an absolute evaluation with a total score out of 100 points.

As a result of the evaluation, Mokpo received consistently high scores across all five evaluation categories, achieving a total score exceeding 90 points and earning the SA grade.

Major pledges for fostering future strategic industries and improving citizen welfare, such as nurturing the renewable energy industry including the ‘nation’s first electric propulsion car ferry launch,’ realizing ‘Mokpo, the City of Taste,’ and operating the nation’s first integrated corporate and individual brand ‘Mokpo Nangmankol’ to enhance citizens’ basic transportation rights, are being steadily implemented.

Additionally, through the city’s website, efforts are being made to realize open administration by providing citizen communication spaces such as ‘Policy Proposals’ and ‘Voting (Surveys)’ so that citizens can more easily suggest major policies.

A city official stated, “It is meaningful to receive the highest grade from the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, the most credible institution in pledge evaluations,” and added, “We will continue to keep our promises to citizens and carry out trusted administration.”
