‘Construction of the New Guro Economic Agency’ to Promote Priority Hiring for Guro Residents... Establishment of a Rapid Urban Planning Integrated TF Directly under the Mayor to Support Reconstruction and Redevelopment... Support from the District Office for Medical Expenses Over 1 Million Won to Achieve a ‘Guro Without Sick Children’
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seoul Metropolitan Council member Kim In-je (Democratic Party, Guro) officially announced his candidacy for Guro District Mayor under the slogan "Strengthen the Economy, Renew Guro."
On the 31st, after declaring his candidacy, Kim In-je met with the press corps on the 2nd floor of Building 2 at Seoul City Hall Seosomun Office Complex and stated, "I will open a completely new future for Guro from the urgent frontlines of people's livelihoods," adding, "A newly advancing Guro! Kim In-je will make it happen."
Councilor Kim said, "We must choose whether to remain a society where growth has stopped and Guro is left behind or to move toward a newly advancing future for Guro," promising, "I will become an 'innovative district mayor who takes action' for the newly advancing future of Guro."
To this end, Kim proposed six implementation plans: ▲ a future Guro that grows together ▲ a safe Guro where people breathe ▲ a balanced Guro with even development ▲ an educational Guro that nurtures people ▲ a welfare Guro that protects livelihoods ▲ and a Guro where participation and autonomy are realized.
Among the various pledges presented, he emphasized focusing on three key initiatives. The first is the construction of a "New Guro Economic Agency," which will provide incentives for prioritizing employment of Guro residents.
The second is the establishment of a "Rapid Integrated Urban Planning Task Force directly under the district mayor," aimed at accelerating reconstruction and redevelopment projects.
The third pledge is "A Guro without sick children," promising that for medical expenses exceeding 1 million won, the district office will support the amount exceeding 1 million won.
Before the candidacy press conference on the same day, Councilor Kim In-je visited the early morning labor market and traditional markets, then visited the late Chairman Kim Geun-tae Memorial Library to reaffirm his determination to run.
At the memorial library for the late Chairman Kim Geun-tae, Minpyeongryeon representative So Byung-hoon (National Assembly member), National Assembly members Woo Won-shik and In Jae-geun were also present.
